A Sligo-based expert in palliative care has highlighted the importance of learning how to improve services for those with life-limiting conditions or needing end-of-life care.
Dr Anna Cleminson, consultant in palliative medicine at North West Hospice in Sligo, says these services are become more important as more people get older.
She was speaking to Ocean FM News ahead of a major three-day conference in Dublin on palliative care, which starts today.
It’s the World Research Congress of the European Association for Pallaitive Care.
It will be attended by more than 1100 delegates from all over the world showcasing their latest research.
Dr Cleminson says it’s a valuable learning opportunity.
