Anti-frackers want total ban, both North and South

Anti-fracking campaigners are calling for governments in both North and South of Ireland to pass legislation that would totally prevent the fracking industry exploring for or extracting oil or gas from the earth in either jurisdiction.

The call has come after anti-fracking groups took their case to Stormont in Northern Ireland this week.

Although the North is now moving toward allowing fracking after planning permission is granted, Aideen McLoughlin, spokesperson for Good Energies Alliance, says this does not go far enough.

She spoke to Ocean FM following the Stormont meeting.
