Fermanagh Senior League Previews

Round 8 in the Senior Football League comes to us on Sunday at 1pm with another 10 great games to look forward to before everyone goes home to most likely watch Cavan take on Armagh in the Ulster Senior Football Championship Quarter Final.

Bel v DG

This weekend is also the last game that Fermanagh County players will be able to play in before they take on Donegal on June 12th so its widely expected Pete McGrath will be keeping his fingers tightly crossed in Rostrevor that he doesn’t get a phone call of a major injury to any of his County players.

Good luck to all.

TEEMORE V ERNE GAELS = Two sides who are currently operating in the top 4 of the division 1 league table. Teemore have been playing well of late and picked up an excellent win away to Devenish last weekend. Erne Gaels left it late last Sunday against Belcoo and this game should be extremely close.

IRVINESTOWN V DEVENISH = Irvinestown have hit form of late and will go into this game quietly confident of picking up both points. Devenish have had a rotten run of luck lately and once again the home side has to be favoured here to continue the fine run that they are on.

ROSLEA V MAGUIRESBRIDGE = Maguiresbridge put in two good performances against Ederney and Derrygonnelly but they still failed to gain any points. Roslea were defeated by Derrygonnelly last Sunday and the Shamrocks will be confident of getting back on winning ways here.

EDERNEY V TEMPO = Ederney picked up a good win away to Maguiresbridge the last day out, while for Tempo the defeats are starting to add up in a big way. Once again home advantage will favour the team in form.

BELCOO V DERRYGONNELLY = A derby clash which should bring its usual bite. Belcoo will be bitterly disappointed not to have taken anything last week from Erne Gaels. Derrygonnelly are the form team with 6 wins in a row. It should be very close in Belcoo.

DIVISION 2

ENNISKILLEN V BELNALECK = The first of three neighbourly clashes in this division sees two sides that are in bad need of a win. With fourth place not that far away both these sides can’t be counted out just yet. A win here for either may start a run of wins.

NEWTOWNBUTLER V LISNASKEA (Noon) = A key derby clash between two sides who are breathing on the top 3. Newtownbutler only got a point last weekend against Belnaleck, while Lisnaskea had a solid 8 point win over Derrylin. Newtownbutler have games in hand, Lisnaskea come in under a win, it will be close.

AGHADRUMSEE V ST PATRICKS DONAGH = 2nd v 3rd should see little between these sides on Sunday. Aghadrumsee’s good run came to an end last weekend with a defeat against Kinawley, while Donagh defeated Enniskillen. Donagh get a hesitant vote here.

DERRYLIN V BROOKEBOROUGH = Two sides who are having a difficult season and a sharp decline from bygone years. A game that both would dearly love to win, it looks like home advantage should swing it for Mickey Cadden’s team.

COA V KINAWLEY = Kinawley have played 7 and won 7. Coa have played 5 and have 1 win with 4 defeats. James Allen may have left the Kinawley squad for America BUT for now it should b 8 wins from 8 come Sunday3pm.
