Funding has been announced for new primary care centres, including centres in Ballymote, Co Sligo, and Boyle in North Roscommon.
Independent Midlands North West MEP Marian Harkin says the announcement follows a new €70 million loan from the European Investment Bank.
The centres will provide GP surgeries, occupational therapy, social work and dietary advice, as well as additional mental health, dentistry and addiction services.
In Ballymote, there has been concern about safety in relation to the entrane and exit route to the proposed new centre.
It’s the first time the European INvestmetn Bank has provided support for heatlhcare in vestmewnt in Ireland.
