Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for the north west. The warning for snow and ice is in place for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal from 6pm this evening until 11am Monday morning. The forecaster says there will be wintry showers of snow especially on high ground.

A status Yellow warning has been issued for counties Sligo and Leitrim. Heavy rainfall with a risk of flooding has been forecast for today, with the notice in place until midnight tonight. The full list of areas affected is Connacht, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford
