Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal to begin Masters campaigns



Sligo and Donegal Gaelic football Masters teams will begin their respective 2022 championship campaigns across the weekend.

Sligo, who were defeated in the 2021 Shield semi-final by Westmeath travel to Galway in Round One of this year’s competition on Saturday, 7th May.

Sligo’s squad includes recognisable names such as Ross Donovan and Con O’Meara.

Leitrim, who are amalgamated with Longford, began their 2022 campaign on Easter Saturday with a trip to London.

Unlike Leitrim’s Senior Gaelic footballers, the Leitrim-Longford selection were defeated by the exiles.

Their next fixture is at home to Laois on Saturday, 21st May.

Donegal, who won the All-Ireland Masters Championship in 2019 and the Masters Shield in 2021 start 2022 with an all-Ulster tie away to Cavan.
