Planning Permission granted for new Lidl store in Tubbercurry

The south Sligo town of Tubbercurry is in line for a major boost after the German international retailer Lidl was notified by Sligo County Council that it is to get planning permission for a new store with a fourteen-hundred square metre sales area.

Lidl Property Executive Brian Smyth says it will bring in investment of more than €6m to the area, providing 30 to 35 fulltime jobs, with an expected 80 jobs during construction.

The site is along Circular Road in Tubbercurry.

It’s hoped the new store will be up and running in about two years time.

Mr Smyth says the Tubbercurry store will be similar to the Lidl store at Finisklin Road in Sligo town.
