Sligo student part of initiative aimed at helping those most vulnerable

A Sligo student is part of a team that has come up with a novel idea to help support more vulnerable people, such as older people living alone, during the pandemic.

The Build-a-Box initiative is being run by occupational therapy students at NUI Galway with the aim of helping mitigate isolation and deal with the fallout from social distancing and cocooning.

Currently in the prototype stage, Sligo student, Jack Sayers, says the response so far has been very positive and hopes it can be rolled out to more people soon.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he gives examples of some of items being packaged.
