Solution needed for water runoff in Collooney

A Sligo Councillor is calling for a solution to an area of Collooney suffering from a large volume of water runoff on a regular basis.

Sinn Fein Councillor, Thomas Healy, tabled a motion at Sligo County Council where he said water from blocked drains is causing a financial and mental burden for residents on the main road through the village.

Councillor Healy told of a woman who has had to spend €2,500 of her own money in an attempt to fix the problem and has written to the Council on numerous occasions.

Councillor Healy says the woman has had to get up in the middle of the night on occasion in an attempt to address the issue.
