Ballymote jockey Darragh Keenan makes winning return

Ballymote jockey Darragh (wearing the purple & green silks) won his first race since the UK resumption of racing, when he won the Betway Insider Handicap at Newcastle on Thursday.

The John Butler trained horse won at a price of 5/1.

It was the Sligoman’s first winners since racing resumed behind closed doors in the UK.

Keenan currently has 70 winners as apprentice jockey – and needs 25 more to earn his full jockey licence.

Irish racing re-opens this Monday June 8th, with a flat-race meeting at Naas.
