Student Enterprise Programme national final takes place today

Business brains of the future are showcasing their ideas and inventions at Croke Park today.

222 teenagers, some as young as 13, will highlight their work as part of the Student Enterprise Programme National Final.

Some of the pieces in the competition include a construction safety attachment to prevent suspension trauma and a car harness for dogs.

Oisin Geoghegan, Chair of the Local Enterprise Network, says they want to create future entrepreneurs:

Growth in the service sector is at a three month low, according a new report from AIB.

New business activity in the sector, which includes areas such as retail, banking and hotels, was also at its lowest for two and a half years.

Senior Economist with AIB, John Fahey, says despite the figures, the sector is going in the right direction.

On the currency markets today, the euro can be exchanged for one dollar and twelve cents and for 86 pence Sterling.
