Sligo, Letterkenny hospitals fare well in patient survey

A new patient survey has found that most of those attending Sligo University Hospital reported having a positive experience.

85% of participants in the National Patient Experience Survey said they had a ‘good’ or ‘very good’ overall experience.

This compares to 84% nationally.

The figure was 86% for Letterkenny University Hospital.

More than 400 people completed the survey following their discharge from Sligo University Hospital in May this year.

Areas for improvement that emerged included choice of food, as well as more information for patients about their condition or treatment.

Sligo University Hospital General Manager Grainne McCann has been telling Ocean FM News the chief points that emerge from the survey.
