Mother of Down’s Syndrome boy upset by its inclusion in Referendum discussion



County Sligo woman, Jacqueline McDonagh, who has a son with Down’s Syndrome, has expressed her upset at the inclusion of the condition in discussions surrounding the Eighth Amendment referendum. She is taking no position in the debate, but has criticised the reaction following the revelation last week that more than half of pregnant women in the country’s main maternity hospitals who are told their babies will be born with Down’s Syndrome are opting for a termination
