HSE says it’s committed to keeping a full-time respite service in south Donegal

The HSE says every effort is being made to recruit more staff at a respite centre in south Donegal.

The Seaview Respite Centre in Mountcharles has been reduced to a three night-a-week service.

It provides respite for children and adults with an Intellectual disability and or Autism on a rotational basis for South West Donegal area.

In a statement, the HSE says the cutbacks are down to recruitment issues.

However, it’s reassuring people that a new Health Care Assistant started work on the 2nd of
October and more appointments are underway.

The HSE says it’s committed to retaining the service on a full-time basis.
