MEP Marian Harkin says the GAA might be one of the largest voluntary organisations in the country.
She made the comment at the launch of the programme of voluntary events to be organised by Sligo GAA at the association’s Centre of Excellence in Scarden, Sligo.
It also coincides with Sligo having been selected as European Capital of Volunteering for 2017.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Marian Harkin said that most members of the GAA are volunteers.
