HSE says measles case confirmed to have been in Enniscrone

In an updated statement today on the measles outbreak, the HSE says a case was confirmed to have passed through Enniscrone in west Sligo in the last month.

The HSE is currently investigating an ongoing outbreak in different parts of Ireland where thirty measles cases have been identified so far with 22 of these in Kerry.

It is believed that the source of infection most likely came from another European country.

The HSE says Enniscrone and Ballina have been identified as places where individuals confirmed with measles have been while infectious between the 27th and 29th of May.

Meanwhile, concerned parents are being urged to contact their GP by phone and NOT in person if they suspect their child has measles.
