Farmers in south Donegal and further afield are being urged to be on the alert following the theft of fuel from the tractor.
The incident happened in a farmyard in the area in Pettigo at some stage between 6pm on Tuesday evening of last week and 9.30am on Wednesday morning.
Gardai have launched an appeal and are urging any residents who may have observed any suspicious activity or vehicles to make it known to them.
Other farmers in the area are being advised to check their farm machinery.
