People are being urged to act safe and prepare appropriately when hiking out in the north west during this weekend.
With more people visiting remote and hard to access areas over the extended period, there is an increase in chances of help required.
Sligo/Leitrim mountain rescue team, among others, were training possible scenarios during the week as preparation.
This week the training was a multi casualty scenario on the slopes of Benbulben. They trained in triage and casualty care, medical and stretcher extraction.
