Government set to ‘crucify’ border filling stations



The Government has been accused of crucifying border filling stations with its planned tax hikes on petrol and diesel.

 

Fuel prices have risen by more than 30 percent in the past three years.

 

The AA Ireland’s latest monthly Fuel Price Survey has reported a surge recently, with fears the cost of fuel will soon rise to €2 per litre.

 

The Government is under pressure to scrap the hikes as the gap between fuel prices North and South continue to widen.

 

A motion on the issue was moved in The Dail by Donegal Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty yesterday evening:
