Woman killed in Donegal crash



A woman has passed away following a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 1:30pm yesterday on the N56, Ballina Road, at Falcarragh in County Donegal.

The woman, who was in her 80s, was the driver and sole occupant of the car involved. She was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries, where she later passed away.

The incident, along with another crash in Cork last night, brings the total number of road deaths on Irish roads so far this year to 66.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Falcarragh area between 1:15pm and 1:45pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
