Report shows price increase in north west farmland

Inclement weather conditions continue to impact the price of land across the north west.

Despite recording overall increases, counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are among the counties that recorded the lowest value for farmland nationally in 2023.

Today’s report published by Teagasc and the Society of Chartered Surveyors shows that in Sligo, good-quality land less than 50 acres was securing €9,325 and €4,450 for poor-quality land.

High-quality land was recorded at €7,978 in Leitrim and €4,000 for poor-quality land.

In Donegal the price for high-quality land increased to €13,400, while the price of poor-quality land decreased to stand at €5,000.
