Leitrim local authority urged to extend waste water treatment

The local authority in Leitrim is being urged to explore avenues for extending waste water treatment plants in towns and villages in the north of the county.

It’s thought that the lack of such is holding up the development of new houses in the area.

However, it has come to light recently that funding could be available to develop a wastewater treatment plant and sewerage system if the council decides to apply for it.

Local Fine Gael Councillor Seán McDermott says it’s something the council should consider.
