‘Unlikely’ law allowing Sligo nightclubs open later will be ready by summer

It’s now increasingly unlikely that legalisation which would allow for nightclubs to open until 6am and pubs to open until 12.30am will be ready by the summer.

Sligo is one of the areas chosen for the move to be piloted when the time comes.

In November, the Justice Minister had said she hoped to get the new laws enacted by summer 2024.

However speaking in Brussels this morning, Taoiseach Simon Harris was said to be sceptical about meeting that deadline.
