Sligo gears up for Déjà Vu North West



The Déjà Vu North West, a reunion of takes place in Sligo on the weekend of April 26-28th. Event organiser Robert Lipsett, Padraic Boylan (Connacht Motor Club) and sponsors Ciaran Phelan (FAAC) & Peter Devaney (Devaney Recovery) joined Austin O’Callaghan in studio to talk about the event.

The weekend will see 140 iconic cars, both old rally cars and classics and their owners, take in a leisurely run to Donegal and back taking in many classic roads in Sligo and Leitrim.

The main Déjà Vu North West drive, from Sligo to Donegal – and back, will take place on Saturday, April 27th.

The cars will leave the Sligo Retail Park in Carraroe and drive up to Donegal Town and Frosses, before returning to Sligo town centre’s O’Connell Street at 4:15pm approximately later on Saturday.

All proceeds from the souvenir programme all other proceeds from this charitable weekend go to Rallying Friends, who are supporting the McDonald and Maguire families who were bereaved when Gene McDonald and Dáire Maguire lost their lives during the Sligo Stages Rally last July.
