On Saturday next a major event will take place in the Landmark Hotel in Carrick on Shannon called Let’s Talk Cancer.
The event will run from 10am to 1.15 pm all money raised will be divided between North West Hospice & SHOUT (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust)
The event is being organised by the former Leitrim GAA player Martin McHugh and just like Martin the majority of the guests have had experience of dealing with cancer at some stage in their lives.
One of the guests is Amelia McFarland, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 31 years old. She will tell her story in the Let’s Talk About Cancer initiative on Saturday and earlier today took time to preview the event in the company of John Lynch on North West Today.
