Gurteen Celtic have been crowned Connacht junior shield champions following a 1-0 extra-time win over Mervue United in Castlebar.
The crucial goal came two minutes into the second-half of extra-time from Tara Phillips.
The result caps off an excellent season for Gurteen’s women’s team, who added much sought after silverware following a pair of 2nd place finishes in the Sligo Bay Lobsters Women’s League, and Women’s Cup.
