Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision at Barnacoll, Claremorris in county Mayo.
The collision involving a car and a pedestrian happened at around 9.20pm yesterday evening on the N17.
The pedestrian; a male aged in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The section of the N17 remains closed this morning to facilitate and examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage including dashcam and were travelling on the N17 between Claremorris and Knock between 8.45pm and 9.30pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
