Sligo’s Paddy O’Connor transfers to Kilmacud Crokes

Sligo senior gaelic footballer Paddy O’Connor is transferring to Kilmacud Crokes GAA Club in Dublin.

The St Farnan’s clubman lives and works in the capital – and and so playing his club football in Dublin makes sense for the west Sligo native at this stage of his career.

O’Connor had put a lot of time into his home club in recent years – and was chaiperson of the club for a year while captaining his club to a Sligo intermediate championship title in 2021.

Kilmacud are one of the country’s largest most prominent football clubs – having won the All-Ireland club championship in 2023 and have won the last three Leinster club football titles.

The club has brought in several other footballers from outside counties in recent seasons, including Galway’s Shane Walsh.

O’Connor is currently preparing with this Sligo team-mates for the Connacht senior football championship opener with Leitrim on Sunday, April 7th.
