Leitrim v Sligo championship game back in Carrick

Leitrim will have home advantage after all for their Connacht senior football championship quarter-final against Sligo on Sunday, April 7th.

The game was originally fixed for Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon to enable planned pitch upgrade works at Leitrim’s home county ground of Avant Money Páirc Sean MacDiarmada begin.

However, a meeting of the Connacht CCC on Tuesday morning confirmed that the pitch upgrade in Carrick-on-Shannon won’t start until after April 7th.

This means Leitrim can move their quarter-final against neighbours Sligo back to Páirc Sean.

The Connacht championship game between the two on Sunday, April 7th, will have a 3:30pm throw-in – and will be broadcast live on Ocean FM Sport.
