ATU Sligo reach All-Ireland Moynihan Cup final



For the second year in a row, ATU Sligo senior women’s gaelic footballers are through to the Higher Education Moynihan Cup final, following Friday’s 4-7 to 1-5 semi-final win over South Eastern Technological University (SETU), Waterford, in Cork.

Three first-half goals paved the way for this win, with ATU leading by 3-3 to 0-3 at the interval.

They restricted their opponents to 1-2 in the second-half before running out winners by 11 points.

ATU will now face Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in Saturday’s final.

Sligo native Rachel O’Brien was one of MIC goalscorers in their semi-final win over University of Liverpool.

Saturday’s final will throw-in at 12 noon at MTU Cork.
