Sligo finalise Connacht U20 football panel



Sligo will begin the defence of their Connacht under-20 football championship on March 27th against Roscommon at Markievicz Park.

This year’s provincial under-20 championship has a change of format – with all five counties playing four round-robin championship games, instead of a straight knockout competition.

After the round robin phase, the team topping the table goes straight to the final.

The second and third placed teams play a semi-final on Wednesday, April 24th.

The Connacht final is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.

Sligo retain 19 of the squad that famously reached last year’s All-Ireland under-20 final.

Paul Henry and his selectors have finalised a 40-man squad for the 20204 campaign.

  • Wednesday March 20th; Round 1 – Sligo bye
  • Wednesday March 27th; Round 2 – Sligo vs Roscommon, Markievicz Park
  • Wednesday April 3rd; Round 3 – Sligo vs Galway, away – venue tbc
  • Wednesday April 10thl; Round 4 – Sligo vs Leitrim, Markievicz Park
  • Wednesday April 17rh; Round 5 – Sligo vs Mayo, McHale Park
