Importance of cash payments highlighted at Council meeting



This month’s meeting of Sligo County Council has heard calls for a continuation of cash payments.

 

Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom MacSharry put forward a motion urging the Government to recognise the importance of cash as a means of payment.

 

He says notes and coins are crucial to prevent the exclusion of vulnerable groups, such as the elderly.
