Farmers to protest at local council meetings today



Farmers in Sligo and Leitrim are set to stage protests later this morning.

 

The demonstrations are taking place outside the offices of Sligo County Council and the Kinlough Community centre, where the meeting of Leitrim County Council is due to be held.

 

It follows farmers across Cork descending on Cork Airport on Monday morning to vent their frustrations with policy.

 

The ‘Enough is Enough’ campaign centres around the fact that farmers are angry with ‘increased regulation, reduced supports, and falling incomes’.
