Sligo Councillor warns of no quick fix solution for overcrowding issues at SUH

A Sligo councillor and member of the Regional Health forum West has conceded it will take time to ease the overcrowding issues currently being experienced at Sligo University Hospital

Recent NMO data confirmed that Sligo University Hospital is the 5th most overcrowded Hospital in the county during the month of February.

The figures confirmed that 649 people spent time on trollies at SUH in February 2024.

That’s an increase of 121 on the February figure of 2023.

Sligo Drumcliffe Councillor Donal Gilroy says unfortunately there is no quick fix solution to solving the overcrowding issues
