Works halt at south Donegal hotel due to house refugees

It’s reported that work on the site of the Ringfort Inn in Bruckless has stopped.

The south Donegal hotel had been earmarked to house a number of asylum seekers but it has been lying vacant since 2012.

It had been claimed that works were ongoing on the building despite full planning permission not being granted.

Now a letter from the Integration Minister Roderic O’Gorman’s office has been circulated, which outlines that the Department will not enter into contract with the owner until all planning issues with Donegal County Council are resolved.

The Department is also seeking evidence that the premises complies with all statutory requirements and standards and further proof that a resolution of all issues before it enters into a contract with the provider.
