Local motorists among those caught speeding on national slowdown day

Motorists in Donegal and Carrick-on-Shannon are among those already detected to be travelling above the speed limit on National Slowdown day.

In the first two hours alone operation ‘GoSafe’ detected 33 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit throughout the Country.

Segaratnt Aoife Hayes is the sergeant in charge of the Sligo Leitrim road policing unit

She is warning that motorists intend to increase their speed as we enter into spring and the weather conditions improve.
