Former Correspondent reacts to latest crisis at RTE



The controversy at RTE continued on over the weekend. The latest instalment of this was aired on Thursday on Prime Time when after Minister Cathrine Martin expressed a lack of confidence in Siún Ní Raghallaigh, the chair of the board of RTÉ resigned afterwards.

 

 

Minister for Media Catherine Martin said she was “misinformed” by the chair of the RTÉ board when it came to providing assurances the board had no role in signing off on recent exit packages for senior executives.

 

It subsequently emerged the board –did approve the exit package of former chief financial officer Richard Collins.
