157 adults homeless across the region in January 2024



157 adults accessed emergency accomodation in the final week of January this year.

The figures were confirmed in the most recent Monthly Homelessness Report.

Of the total 157, 129 were single adults. 103 were male, while the remaining 54 were female.

115 were also registered as Irish citizens.

The report also showed that Sligo had the highest amount of homeless people across the region, with 83. This was followed up by Donegal, with 61, and 13 in Leitrim.

21 families were also included in the report, 16 of which were single-parent families. In total, there 49 child dependents across the region.

The North West’s total accounted for 2% of the entire country’s total, which stood at 9,504.
