Major wastewater upgrades on the way for Mountcharles

It’s hoped that upcoming work will deliver major wastewater upgrades in Mountcharles.

Almost €30 million is being invested into county Donegal by Uisce Éireann, with the south Donegal village set to benefit alongside Carrigart and Kilmacrennan.

Uisce Éireann is set decommission the existing plant at Mountacharles and Hall Demesne and construct new pump stations and link them to the Donegal Wastewater Treatment Plant

The project is expected to be completed in 2026.

Local Sinn Féin Councillor Noel Jordan, who has been calling for improvements to be made for some time, says the development will have a number of benefits for the local area.
