There was a dramatic finish in Enniskillen this afternoon after Abbey Vocational School were beaten on frees by Coláiste Dún an Rí of Cavan in the Ulster C U16 girls final.
The game finished had finished Abbey VS 3-06 – 1-12 Coláiste Dún an Rí after extra time.
It was a dramatic game from start to finish, with Abbey VS trailing at half-time on a score of 1-00 – 1-04.
They raced into a second half lead, but were pegged back by a late Dún an Rí score to send the game to extra time.
It was much of the same in additional time, as two late points from the Cavan side sent the game to 20-metre frees.
It wasn’t to be for Abbey VS on this occasion, narrowly missing out by losing 2-1 in the shootout.
