Mona McSharry reaches third World final in a week



Sligo swimmer Mona McSharry has reached a third final at this week’s World Aquatics Championships in Doha, after qualifying for Sunday’s final of the women’s 50 metres breakstroke.

McSharry was third in her semi-final on Saturday, clocking a time of 30.57 seconds, to qualfiy sixth fastest overall.

This followed the Grange woman reaching the finals of the 100m and 200m breastroke events earlier this week.

She finished fifth in both finals.

Sunday’s 50 metres breaststroke final is scheduled to take place at 4:09pm Irish time, on what will be the final day of this year’s World Championships.
