ATU Sligo hurl their way to Fergal Maher Cup final

ATU Sligo’s senior hurlers are through the Fergal Maher Cup final following an impressive 3-16 to 2-12 win over Marino Institute of Education (MIE) of Dublin, in Friday’s semi-final played at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney.

It was an impressive performance by ATU, who were narrowly beaten by a point at the same stage of this third level competition 12 months ago.

Here, they established a commanding 2-9 to 0-5 interval lead – and were able to keep their Dublin opponents at arms length for the remainder of the game.

The final is scheduled for Saturday at 12 noon.
