Gardaí issue traffic arrangements for Tony McGowan run

Gardaí in Leitrim have issued traffic details for the 12th annual Tony McGowan run, which takes place in Drumshanbot this Sunday, February 18th.

The popular event, which attracts in excess of 1000 runners and walkers each year, remembers the late Tony McGowan, a former GAA County Board Chairman and hugely respected local community figure.

Sunday’s event is once again already sold out.

Gardaí say traffic diversions will be in place between 10 am and 3pm on Sunday.

GAA fans in the county are asked to note that traffic travelling  from north Leitrim to Carrick-on-Shannon  for the Allianz Football League Division 4 game between Leitrim and Wexford may be diverted through Keadue.

Supporters are being urged to allow extra time for their journey and take an alternative route if possible.

Here are the race start times for the Tony McGowan run this Sunday, Feb 18th:
2.5km Fun Run: 11:15am
5km:  11:30am
10km: 11:45am
Half Marathon: 12pm.
