Abbey VS celebrate historic MacLarnon Cup title

Abbey Vocational School Donegal Town’s senior boys gaelic footballers won a first ever Ulster Colleges MacLarnon Cup title on Sunday with a 2-11 to 0-8 win over Belfast’s Our Lady’s & St Patrick’s, Knock, in a final played at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

They become the fourth Donegal school to lift the MacLarnon after De La Salle Ballyshannon, St Eunan’s Letterkenny and PCC, Falcarragh.

Conor Breslin spoke to the Carr brothers Senan and Turlough, who were named joint Players of the Match.

AVS Donegal will now play Connacht Champions Dunmore Community School (Galway) in the All-Ireland ‘B’ colleges semi-final later this month.
