Abbey VS bid for Ulster Colleges glory this Sunday



Sunday will be a landmark day for the senior boys gaelic footballers from the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal Town, as they contest a first ever Ulster Colleges MacLarnon Cup final.

Abbey take on Belfast’s Our Lady & St Patrick’s, Knock, at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh, in the Ulster Colleges senior ‘B’ championship decider.

The Donegal town school have looked impressive en route to the final and are backboned by players from the Four Masters Ulster minor club championship winning team, as well as talented club players from St Naul’s and Naomh Bríd, Ballintra.

Sunday’s final is part of an Ulster double bill with the centenary edition of the MacRory Cup final between holders Omagh CBS and St Pat’s Academy Dungannon following it at 3pm.

Sunday’s MacLarnon Cup final will be broadcast live on oceanfm.ie from 1pm, in association with Donegal Plumbing & Heating, with match commentary from Conor Breslin and Peadar Mogan.
