Mark McHugh to coach Moycullen in Galway

Former Donegal 2012 All-Ireland winner, Mark McHugh has joined Galway GAA club Moycullen as a coach ahead of the 2024 season.

The Kilcar man had been part of the Roscommon senior football management team under Davy Burke  but left that role in November because of work and travel commitments.

McHugh travels to Galway for work on a weekly basis so the Moycullen role appears to fit in with his schedule – he will continue to play club football for his native Kilcar this year.

Moycullen won the Connacht Club Championship in 2022 and were beaten by Corofin in the 2023 senior championship final last November.

It’s understood Roscommon’s Don Connellan, who led Moycullen to two county titles, has since stepped down as manager with Cathal Clancy (a Moycullen selector in recent seasons) set to take over.
