Sligo Councillor expresses concern over speeding in Ballinacarrow



Frustration is said to be building in Ballinacarrow over ongoing speeding incidents.

 

The main thoroughfare of the village is on the N17 and while there is a 50km/h speed limit in place, it’s reported that a number of motorists continue to disobey the signage.

 

A recent survey carried out by the local primary school showed some motorists were travelling at over 85km/h.

 

Local Fine Gael Cllr Dara Mulvey says while some traffic calming measures have been implemented in the area, more are needed urgently:
