Derry beat Donegal in McKenna Cup final

Derry senior gaelic footballer retained the Dr McKenna Cup title on Saturday evening with a 0-12 to 0-6 win over Donegal in Omagh.

Six points from Player of the Match Shane McGuigan gave Mickey Harte’s side, who were without their Glen contingent on account of Sunday’s All-Ireland club final, a double-scores victory.

Donegal finished the game with 13 players – with team captain Paddy McBrearty and Oisín Gallen both seeing red.

Brendan Rogers was also sent off for Derry.

The sides will meet again in April in an Ulster Championship quarter-final at Celtic Park.
