Connacht Colleges semi-final parings finalised



The 2024 Connacht Colleges senior ‘A’ football championship concluded the group stages on Friday with holders Summerhill College set to face St Gerald’s of Castlebar in the last four.

St Gerald’s beat the fancied St Colman’s Claremorris in their final Group 1 game on Friday by 2-10 to 0-13 to clinch the runners-up spot.

They will now face last year’s winners Summerhill, who have finished top of Group 2 after their 1-16 to 0-6 victory over Ballinrobe earlier this week.

Rice College of Westport also qualify from Group 2 – they will face Claregalway in the semis – after the Galway school beat the Leitrim combined team 1-24 to 1-5 in their concluding group match on Friday.

In the ‘B’ championship, holders St Attracta’s bowed out at the quarter-final stage on Friday, losing by 2-10 to 1-8 to Dunmore Community School at the Air Dome.

There was a good win for Jesus & Mary Secondary School Enniscrone in the senior ‘D’ quarter-final – they beat Seamount College Kinvarra by 3-9 to 3-6 to qualify for the last four.
