Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire at a building on Main Street, Buncrana shortly after 1am this morning.
In a statement to Ocean FM news, Gardai say that all occupants of the building were evacuated safely.
A number people were taken to University Hospital Letterkenny for possible smoke inhalation.
Gardaí say that preliminary findings indicate that the fire started and was confined within one room within the building.
Gardaí say they will carry out a technical examination of this fire scene, which will determine the course of any other investigations.
